Mozambique Speaker
In Budapest we had for the second time a speaker from an African country.
 The
lecture of the 25-year old archivist of Mozambique, Moises Chongo, was, in
the summary of the Sony representative, one of the most impressive parts of
our seminar - but one should not only give a great applause and then forget
the situation of the audio-visual archives of Mozambique. Together with Luis
da Costa, RTP, Portugal, I wrote a letter (both in English and in Portuguese)
to the director of the Mozambique television station suggesting co-operation
with Mr. Chongo.
This is a first step, but there could be other possibilities. Our colleagues
of South Africa promised to train Moises Chongo in the near future and there
should be a possibility in Lisbon, too, but maybe there are yet other possibilities.
Does anyone have technical equipment which can be spared? And then again thanks
to Protape, who paid the expenses for the invitation. But we should now try
to find some sponsors to organise an East African regional training course
together with Namibia, South Africa Mozambique, Kenya and others.
