Video about the Misuse/Use of Film and Video Archive Material is now avaiable for sale

By the end of February it will be possible to buy a copy of the video that the Programming and Production Commission presented at the FIAT/IFTA Conference this year in Santiago. The Video shows and illustrates through examples from different television archives the use and misuse of archival materials. The video concentrates on the use of historical material, the use of footage to identify people, the use of logos on screen, and technical considerations and the video shall be seen as a supplement to the earlier produced leaflet on the subject.

The intention with the video is to make researchers and programme makers more aware of how archive material is used in the programme productions and intend to prompt debate and exchange of views between researchers/archivists and members of the production team.

The Video is available on PAL and NTSC and the price is 20 DM/10 US$ (40DM/20 US$ for non-members) to cover FIAT‚s costs for production, handling and shipping and includes also the leaflet in English or Spanish. Please specify language version and viedoformat when ordering.
