FIAT/IFTA Nordic-Baltic Seminar in Tallinn, Estonia, May 26-27!

Dear Colleagues,

ETV-logoIn the line of the FIAT/IFTA statutes and policy - beside the annual World Conference - we try continously to expand the network of audiovisual archives and the transfer of professional experience of audiovisual archiving by this kind of regional events. We are especially happy to be in Tallinn this time, since this old Hanseatic town on the southern shore of the Baltic through its history represents both the linking of countries and the opening towards a promising future.

This two-day Seminar starts on Friday, May 26th and ends in the aftenoon of Saturday the 27th. The Seminar is preceded by meetings of the different FIAT/IFTA Commissions and Work Groups on Thursday the 25th, among them the FIAT/IFTA Archive Awards pre-jury shortlisting meeting. Thus the focus of the Seminar is on the networking of audiovisual archives of the region, it will also try to give an overview on the state of the art of audiovisual archiving, pointing out possible paths to future and hopefully also offer some þhands-onþ experiences to bring home.

The Seminar is generously hosted by the Eesti Televisioon and held at the Hotel Viru, conveniently located in downtown Tallinn.
