" The Icelandic Broadcasting Corporation is part of the media and entertainmetnt group, Northern Light Communications, which consists of five television networks, four radio stations, distribution of music, film video, and two recording studios.
The total number of employees is in the NLC group is 400. The main fieldwork in the Film Library is emphasized around the television networks, (Channel 2, Syn, Movie Channel and Music Channel) like classifying all the traffic material.
The Film Library is a part of the production-chain and lot of our time is assisting and finding material for the production, side of day to day operation.
I have a degree in Library and Information science from the University of Iceland. I started working for the Icelandic Broadcasting Corp. in 1992. In the beginning it was only one channel, Channel 2. For the last 8 years the company has been growing constantly. By being a member of FIAT I hope to learn more about what is happening in this field around the world.
