Joint FIAT/IASA/DELOS Workshop on radio materials preservation

Background and theme

• Radio/audio archives are now very active in mass digitisation, and facing most of the DELOS digital library issues - sustainability, funding, workflow, storage formats and technology, metadata.
• The idea is to have a one-day workshop, bringing together researchers in the field of preservation and with media digital libraries end-users from the IFTA/IASA community, presenting and discussing what are the "hot topics" - in research and in practice- when dealing with preservation.
• The time frame will also be the right one to present the results of the joint NSF/DELOS Working Group on Preservation, co-chaired by Seamus Ross and Margaret Headstrom.
