Calling all FIAT members : an opportunity to promote your archives !

At the FIAT/IFTA conference in Brussels this year, we will be celebrating television history. This means not only looking at our past, but also looking at new projects, and to the challenges of the future !

We are giving everyone an opportunity to show to all other FIAT members a sample of the riches of their archives.

VRT, one of the hosts of the conference have kindly offered to FIAT the use of their "Time Machine" which will store and display brief extracts from all our archives. These will be on display at the conference in the "Time machine", and have potential to be shown on the refreshed FIAT website.

Some of these extracts may also be selected as illustrative content for the newly launched BIRTH EU sponsored project (more news later, and at the conference).

To participate in this project please send to Erik de Groef (VRT Television Archives, Room 6L19, B-1043 Brussels, Belgium - erik.degroef@vrt.be) the following :

• A maximum of 3 extracts
• Duration : no more than 1 minute each
• Content : news, entertainment, miscellaneous, to include if possible your first or earliest TV broadcast
• Format : any tape format is acceptable
• Separate captions for these extracts with the date and title/event as appropriate
• Your company logo and company sales contact
• Permission to use these extracts for archive promotional purposes only, on a DVD to be distributed to members at the conference and at the BIRTH and FIAT websites
